I read the Windows User Experience Interaction Guidelines (“UX Guide” for short) and found something funny like this. When I read about “Window Frames” (MSDN Library), I saw one example of incorrect usage of Aero’s glass which shows the Windows Sidebar’ Gadget Gallery. It is said that “In this incorrect example, the use of glass is distracting. A plain window background would be a better choice.”
As I was pretty curious, I checked the Gadget Gallery on my Vista SP2 installation. And here it is:
I could not believe that the very same Gadget Gallery is used as the incorrect example of glass as the window background in the UX Guide but it is still there with the same glass background in Vista (and probably also Windows 7, but I have not verify it yet). Why on earth they said that something is incorrect and still do that?

I am sorry for many missing images on this blog. I realise that some of my visitors come from Google’s image search but most of the image tags point to old URLs and have not been updated. I am working to move the images to the correct places from the site backup.
